In any event, as much as Hickam's book is a mystery, it is really about interesting, sometimes heroic people, doing interesting things, when a mystery opens up around them. The great thing about Hickam is that his people are purposeful. Who they are, what they want, drives what they do and what happens between them happens because of who they are.
