Review Policy

We accept books from both Authors and Publishers.

We review all books for all age groups, though as fans of the genre we tend to place special emphasis on adult Fantasy and Science fiction. We prefer to get physical copies that we can then pass on to fans via giveaways. At the same time, we understand that this is not always possible, and gladly accept digital copies. Just shoot us a .epub, .mobi or .pdf and we'll take it from there.

"Awful" reviews include the cover art of the book, publisher, date published, quick blurb (from the author's website when possible) and our honest opinions about the book. At the end of the review we frequently have two bullet lists where we list the perceived strengths and weaknesses of the novel. If the mood strikes us, we may give out a number rating on a scale from 1 to 10.

We strive to have reviews up within a few days of finishing the book, while the characters, settings, plot and themes are still fresh in our minds.

To contact us for a review, send an email to myawfulreviews@gmail.com

NOTE FOR SELF-PUBLISHED WRITERS: We are happy to receive your works via email, but will choose to read and review them at our discretion. We will most likely not reply to your email. Hopefully that does not cause great offense. I'll offer you all a "thanks" right here.

NOTE FOR THE FTC: We review a number of books that we personally purchase beforehand, in addition to the books that we are given by publishers or through giveaways. You won't be able to tell the difference, because we are honest about our opinions. Frankly it's a little childish to compromise in the face of free books.

I am seeking a review for my science fiction novel THE HEALER. This is its premise: What happens when a 22nd century doctor on sabbatical to Mars, suddenly finds himself – through terrorism – stranded 168 years and 150 million miles from loved ones? He is on a violent & primitive world – ours! How will he survive in modern-day Anchorage, Alaska? Moreover, how will he heal the sick using 2181 medical science, without risking exposure of his true identity? But while he dreams of someday returning to his own time, and family, he has no choice; for he is – THE HEALER. My book is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and a free 3-chapter excerpt at http://Booklocker.com/books/7244.html.
Some of us think that we just pay tax for the care of health and its necessary, but I think if we get educated more in the society we get good jobs and after getting good jobs we would pay on our health and also with knowledge we will know how to prevent ourselves from diseases.
